This session offers a unique chance for participants to connect with our experts and have their questions answered in real-time. Whether new to digital voting or an experienced user, attendees will gain valuable insights into how Eligo’s platform optimizes the voting process for Universities.

During this interactive 30-minute Live Q&A, we’ll explore the features of online voting specifically tailored for universities and HEIs, including secure election management for student and staff votes, candidate presentations, and accessibility accommodations.

Here are the questions (and answers) we received during this Live Q&A session. If you missed the live event, you can re-watch it or read through the insightful questions our audience asked.

Q: We’re considering using online voting not just for student votes but for staff elections as well. Can the platform handle multiple elections at the same time without mixing them up?
A: Absolutely. Our platform is built to support multiple elections concurrently. Each election is self-contained and isolated from others, ensuring there’s no overlap or confusion. For universities, we even offer a portal solution, allowing each department or administrative unit to have its own dedicated electoral area. This setup enables departments to conduct their own elections independently without disrupting or overlapping with other ongoing elections.

Q: How easy is it to connect Eligo with our existing systems, like our ERP? We’re concerned about adding complexity.
A: We fully understand the importance of seamless integration. To address this, we typically implement Single Sign-On (SSO) for smooth user login. Users can enter the voting area using their existing university credentials, streamlining the process significantly. Additionally, for more complex setups, we offer custom integrations that allow data to flow directly between Eligo and your ERP or CRM or internal tools, ensuring an efficient setup and reducing user friction.

Q: For our student elections, we include a pre-election phase with candidate presentations. Does Eligo have tools to manage this process?
A: Yes, we do. Our platform includes a dedicated module for candidate presentations and list composition. This feature allows universities to manage the entire candidate nomination process, from initial list creation to the addition of candidates and supporters, all the way to final approval by university administration. This ensures a structured and compliant process, fully integrated with the subsequent voting phase.

Q: Some of our students have specific accessibility needs. How does the platform ensure that everyone, regardless of their situation, can participate in voting?
A: Accessibility is a core focus for us. Eligo is designed to meet the latest Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) for AAA compliance, ensuring an accessible voting experience for all participants. We’ve optimized the voting interface to eliminate technological barriers and support users with various disabilities, providing an inclusive platform for all voters.

Q: A few people are skeptical about online voting due to privacy concerns. Can you explain how Eligo protects voter anonymity?
A: Maintaining voter privacy is paramount, and we have implemented stringent security measures to ensure 100% confidentiality. Votes are encrypted and stored separately from voter information, ensuring complete anonymity. Additionally, once a vote is cast, it is immediately registered, and the system does not allow voters to re-enter or alter their votes. Unique credentials are sent to each voter, and if credentials are lost, new ones can be issued, invalidating the old ones. This robust security framework ensures that each vote remains private and cannot be traced back to the individual voter.
