During this Live Q&A session we’ll delve into the intricacies of hybrid voting—combining both in-person and remote participation. This session is an excellent opportunity to engage directly with our specialists and learn how Eligo can help you seamlessly manage elections that involve participants both on-site and online.

During this 30-minute session, we will cover best practices for setting up hybrid voting, ensuring a smooth experience for all voters, and addressing any technical or security concerns

Here are the questions (and answers) we received during our recent Live Q&A session. If you missed the live event, you can re-watch it or read through the insightful questions our audience asked.

Q: As per my association’s bylaws, members can participate in our assemblies both in-person and remotely. How do you ensure a seamless voting experience for both in-person and online participants simultaneously?
A: The great thing about Eligo is that the digital ballot and event setup are identical for both in-person and online participants. Everyone uses the same system, so the voting experience remains consistent. For those attending in-person, as long as they have a device with a browser and internet connection, they can vote just as easily as remote participants.

Q: What are the best practices for setting up and managing hybrid voting sessions using Eligo?
A: For managing large groups in a hybrid setting, it’s crucial to ensure that participant information and proxies are updated during the event setup phase. This will minimize processing time during accreditation. It’s also a good idea to notify participants in advance about receiving their credentials, especially if these are sent via email a few days before the event.

Q: What are the technical requirements for implementing hybrid voting?
A: There are no specific technical requirements beyond what’s needed for any Eligo event. If you need to manage and count in-person attendees, you’ll use the Accreditation Management module. Otherwise, both admins and voters just need an up-to-date device with internet access, similar to any other voting scenario.

Q: How does Eligo manage the authentication process for hybrid voting to ensure security?
A: Eligo supports various authentication methods, including integration with Single Sign-On (SSO) systems. For standard setups, participants receive passwords via their individual email addresses. Admins can regenerate credentials if necessary, invalidating the previous ones. The system ensures that each user can only vote once per ballot, maintaining the integrity of the voting process.
