Here are the questions (and answers) we received during our recent Live Q&A session. If you missed the live event, you can re-watch it or read through the insightful questions our audience asked.
Q: Almost all of my association’s assemblies are performed through Microsoft Teams. How does Eligo integrate with platforms like Microsoft Teams or Zoom? Can participants vote directly within the video conferencing tool, or do they need to switch?
A: Great questions! Eligo offers a Voting App for platform for Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex, allowing participants to vote directly within the video conferencing environment. This means that while participants are in a meeting, they can vote seamlessly without having to switch to another application. For example, within Teams, participants can see the Eligo voting interface either in the chat area or in full screen, depending on their preference. Alternatively, you can embed the video conference directly within the Eligo platform, allowing for a more controlled and focused voting process, especially if your voting requirements are more complex.
Q: How do you ensure the confidentiality of votes cast during a video conference?
A: The confidentiality and integrity of votes cast within a video conference are maintained to the same high standards as any other voting process in Eligo. The platform ensures that voter information and their voting selections are encrypted and stored separately. Once a vote is cast, the system splits and encrypts the voter’s identity from their vote, ensuring that even system administrators cannot link the two. This process guarantees that votes remain secret and secure, regardless of the voting environment.
Q: Are there any limitations on the number of participants for the video conference integration?
A: From Eligo’s side, there are no limitations on the number of participants who can vote. We have supported voting events with over a million participants. However, the limitations may come from the video conferencing tool you are using. For instance, Microsoft Teams and Webex have participant limits based on the license you hold, so it’s essential to consider this when planning large-scale events.
Q: Can I activate Eligo directly from Webex?
A: Yes, you can activate Eligo directly from Webex by accessing it through the Webex Marketplace or Teams Marketplace, if you use Teams. There’s also a free trial available, so you can test it for seven days. We are happy to assist you during this trial period to ensure everything runs smoothly.
Q: What happens if there are technical issues during the meeting? For example, if I lose connection while voting, how do I know whether my vote was recorded?
A: If you experience technical issues, such as losing connection during a vote, you can re-access the platform once your connection is restored. If your vote was successfully recorded before the issue occurred, the system will indicate that you have already voted. If not, you will be prompted to cast your vote again. This ensures that no votes are lost, and participants can confirm their voting status even after reconnecting.
